Query:
I have no girl friend and I am still a virgin, I don’t want to lose it to a prostitute so please suggest me an idea to get a gal for a good relationship.

regards
Response:
So here we have a hydrophobic macchi boy, who wants to take a dip in the sea. It is nice to hear from you da, especially in today’s times when losing one’s mobile phone is far more disastrous than losing one’s ‘V’. But this audacious otter has thought that Amma is the Grand Kerala Matrimony, who’d suggest a ‘gal’ for him. As much as Amma likes the tingle of stripping down two lonely wires and bringing them close to each other for some electrifying romance, Amma isn’t a matrimony, make some efforts boy!
Fine enough bashing, now listen up, do not feel left out, half of the fishes out there are desperately looking to plug a fishnet, you are not alone. Moreover, many do not like the idea of going to a Prostitute to avail those services. While you may see yourself as a nerdy high school girl afraid to get her nookie nubbed, there are others like you, or at least were- true story, changed my life.
Yennyway, what you need to find yourself is good company of a girl, yes girl NOT ‘gal’ with whom you can physically commit yourself, and vice versa. After that you may yourself be in a position to decide whether you want to be a born again virgin or not, Amma is a fan of that idea!
So don’t go out looking for a chickenhead, wait and keep a lookout for the voluptuous turkey who’s out there for you.
Be sure to tell Amma your Thanksgiving tales!

With the admission hurdle almost past, the next thing that is now on the minds of outstation DU freshers is looking for the right accommodation to spend the coming four years in. Aries
Tackling your grandmother to win that blue ribbon is definitely a no-no for the self-centered ‘Ram’ this week. Try watching ‘anger management’ instead.

Taurus
Things are looking good for the ‘Bull’ as you’ll finally quit suffering from separation anxiety from detachment of your favourite G.I Joe figurines!

Gemini
The stars aren’t in favour of your love life this week. The bubbly Gemini might just be replaced by a new lover or well, a talking parrot.

Cancer
Being the emotional vampires of the zodiac, you’re suggested to wear eyeliner this week in order to look more Emo. It shall also cure you of the ‘meet and marry’ syndrome you suffer from. Forever.

Leo
For the self-obsessed Leo, embarrassment may ensue after you’re caught kissing… yourself in the mirror yet again.

Virgo
The overly OCD Virgo will be the coolest kids in the hostel as they’ll be the one doing everyone’s laundry! Also, shutting and closing the refrigerator door to trick the light isn’t a good idea.

Libra
For the snazzy dressers, you’re advised to not sink your money into gym memberships, age defying products, and tight v-neck t-shirts.

Scorpio
Your heart will be broken this week as you’ll finally realise that you’re not a Borg leader and that Star Trek is fiction. Hard luck.

Sagittarius
For the adventurous Sadge; trips to the bathroom without the lights out isn’t a good option for you this week. Sleeping with a torch might just save you from dying with your pants down.

Capricorn
You’ll be unable to pat your own back this week as a muscle pull might follow your daily PS3 session.

Aquarius
Aquarians should steer clear of using phrases like ‘Dude…Man’ while describing philosophical concepts.  Your aqua-air persona will definitely ‘blow off’ people otherwise.

Pisces
For the dreamy Piscean; keep cookies and cream by your front door this week. Some of your imaginary friends (and maybe your only) might just pay you a visit. And no, it’s not Jennifer Lopez or Beyonce.

On July 9, another UDAAN pre-event was conducted by AIESEC in Delhi University at the Nehru Planetarium and Memorial. Around 200 children from NGOs such as Katkatha, Bal Sahyog and Akshardham were taken to the planetarium.

The event began with jives and some activities for the children. They were then taught about the solar system and were shown around. A short film was also telecasted for the children. The volunteers played games with the children and everybody had a nice time. Named after a great freedom fighter who was famous for his love for children, the venue couldn’t have been more appropriate. Our food partners, Cossenuire Frozen Foods (Delish) provided the kids with food.

With another pre-event conducted so successfully, preparations for UDAAN have begun in full swing. One volunteer shares his experience, “Udaan’13  lets you be the impact by touching lives of deprived young minds by creating memories and experience of a life-time for them”. As the announcements for the fifth cut-off roll out, it can be expected that the admission season is about to head to a close. While commerce is still open at Gargi and Kirorimal College, LSR will still be offering History at 93.75.

Barring a few courses, majority courses are now closed in most colleges. Commerce is now available only in 23 colleges out of the overall number of 52.

Philosophy and History courses were closed in the fourth cut-off at Gargi. However, the college is now offering seats in the two with the bar at 83.25-87.25 for History and 81-85 for Philosophy. At Ramjas, several courses have started closing for the reserved categories. Ramjas’ Political Science general category cut-off stays the same at 91.5-95.5, while the course is closed for all reserved categories now.

At LSR, while all courses are closed, History is still up for grabs at 93.75. After three consecutive lists, Commerce at Hans Raj is still stuck at 96.5-98. Economics is finally closed at the college now. Science courses such as Physics, Zoology, Botany, Maths and Geology are closed Hans Raj, while B.Tech in Computer Science and Electronics is still available.

When taken a look at the entire B.Tech cut-off, barring the aforementioned college and three others, the general category admissions have been closed.

Overall, the heightened start to the admission season is now surely walking towards the end. With majority of the admissions done, it can be expected that the next cut-off might just be a concluding affair for general category admissions. However, as previously reported, reserved category admissions haven’t picked up in most colleges.

UDAAN is an initiative of AIESEC in Delhi University to bring out the talent in every underprivileged child. The series of events give opportunities to underprivileged children to exhibit their talent by expressing themselves through cultural workshops and various competitions.

On July 6, AIESEC in Delhi University organised a pre-event to kickstart the event which has now become synonymous with AIESEC. Thirty four volunteers and a seven member organizing committee took 500 children from the NGO Chetanalya to the National Museum and showed them around. The excited children first had kirtan, a pooja, which instilled happiness and lifted everyone’s spirits. The joy was evident from the spontaneous dance they all burst into. They were then shown the movie based on The Battle of Plassey. After the movie, Iskon, our food relief partners provided the children with food. It was one memorable day for the children, and the joy on their faces was a heart rendering sight for the volunteers. One of the volunteers said “The kids really enjoyed and came out of their comfort zone, they saw a movie at the Museum which they will never actually see in their life otherwise”.

AIESEC in Delhi University is proud to have spread happiness among the less fortunate. The pre-event was a definite success. The next event will be taking place on the 9th at the Nehru Planetarium.  To volunteer with AIESEC for Udaan 2013, register at http://goo.gl/bpLMO

Query: Hey Amma I am studying in hotel management college and I have no girlfriend but I want to make one still there is no girl around me what do I do please tell me…?

Response: Appaa, the above would have been sucche simble query to answer if this macchi was studying in an engineering collage. You want to make a girlfriend, build one da; it’s what those lads in engineering are doing. But the aforementioned chemeeen from chettinad is quite the desperado. So, here’s hoping a transformation from Raj Koothrapalli to Charlie Sheen.

Little one, come out make friends get to know the ladies around you. It is highly unlikely that there aren’t any girls in your cirgle of acquaintances. Like those extremely cheesy ads, can’t help going cheesy, Amma likes the fondue da; anyway, make friends with girls, girlfriends can come later on. Otherwise if you keep these current of current feelings on a high tide then let me tell you, girls will find you as shallow as the Mullaperiyar crisis!

Finally Amma likes it how this is a macchi- who is actually learning to cook those spicy dishes- needs Amma’s help to light the fire. Fear not, Amma is here to help you only da, yawl the best!

The examination season has left you invigorated. Becoming a part of a street play society will help you channelize your energies in the right direction.

Taurushumouroscope-taurus

You have spent all your life shining with academic excellence but your luck seems to be running thin this summer. Chanting the name of Thomas Edison and Charles Dickens while bathing is a good remedy.

humouroscope-geminiGemini

There’s nothing like a loving relation. Your stars are indicating that you either have or will find an affectionate boyfriend very soon. It’s best if you go to LSR or JMC. There are too many distractions out there. Ignorance is better than abstinence.

humouroscope-cancerCancer

The stars aren’t favoring you this examination season. Getting into SRCC is very difficult. However, if you are willing, Aatma Ram Sanatan Dharma College is offering 20% rebate.

humouroscope-leoLeo

You are highly straightforward and headstrong. You’re likely to enter into a fight with a close friend. It’s better to let him/her have it their way, for a change. Wearing a bracelet made of fake animal claws will ward off evil spirits.

humouroscope-virgoVirgo

There is no clear evidence as to what the cut-offs hold for you. Keeping a class 7th maths textbook under your pillow at all times will boost your luck.

humouroscope-libra

Libra

You’re likely to set the social calendar on fire. No party or bunking scene will be complete without you. Throw in a few attendances, and your semester seems to be a smooth sail.

Scorpiohumouroscope-scorpio

Getting into a college of your choice doesn’t seem to be a problem but getting out of it does. It’s better to give up your BBM and WhatsApp while you still have a choice.

Sagittariushumouroscope-sagi

You seemed to have gotten yourself into a relation that even though is heading nowhere, is hard to wriggle out of. Fighting the inevitable is futile. Let nature take its course and focus on the small hapinesses in life. However, eating onions and not brushing will save from doing things you don’t want to.

Capricornhumouroscope-capricorn

You will be spending more time outside the gates of other colleges than your own. You will have friends in colleges that other people aren’t even aware of. Life is good!

Aquariushumouroscope-Aquarius

There are a lot of PowerPoint presentations and excel sheets coming your way. Brush up your Microsoft Office before the deadlines start dangling over your head.

Pisceshumouroscope-pisces

Keeping all those years of much enjoyed female attention aside, you are likely to attract a female who will be difficult to shake off. Wearing a sunkissed green shirt and yellow jeans on the first day of college will ensure that you steer clear off her (or any other girl, for that matter).

gargi-jmc
Unlike other Delhi University colleges that kept their first cut-off high in order to avoid over admissions, Gargi College had its cut-off for Economics at 93%, while the average cut-off for Economics was fixed at 97%.  Gargi, which previously offered BBE (Bachelor in Business Economics) as a course, is offering Economics Honours as a discipline for the first time. The college was over flooded with students aspiring admission for the course. There was shortage of forms and students were provided with tokens instead. It had an intake which was approximately five times more than the sanctioned strength.

While many colleges are still admitting students, there are some colleges that closed admissions after the first cut-off. Gargi also put a stop to its intake process for almost all courses except History, Sanskrit, Botany and Mathematics. Economics is available in 42 colleges in the campus and most of them came out with a second cut-out. Gargi however, closed admissions just after the first cut-off admitting over 200 students against the approved intake of 40 students.

“According to the University policy and guidelines, its not the first come first serve basis for admissions, no one can deny admissions if a student is eligible for a course provided he/she comes within the time specified”, a lecturer from the college said. “When there are over admissions for a course, we increase the number of sections for the same so that the students and the lecturers do not face problems at the end.” the lecturer added.

Generally, at the most departments have two sections in a batch. With such a huge number, the batch might now be divided in to something around four to five sections. Space crunch, limited faculty and overall limited resources are some of the problems that such a situation could result in. When questioned with regard to the same, we got the response that the college is fully equipped to handle the situation and no college would take admissions otherwise.

(Check entire Admissions 2013 coverage here)

Jesus and Mary College reportedly had their own admission fiasco going on. On 3rd July hundreds of students turned up at JMC to try their luck at getting admitted even though they did not satisfy the cut off. Apparently lots of girls withdrew their admission from JMC’s economics course after the second cut off as they qualified for other courses. So JMC offered the jackpot, admission on first come first serve basis however it was not a formal announcement. Indecently more than a few people heard about it and there was a huge admission rush on the 3rd.

“I had called the office yesterday and they confirmed the rumour. But today they did not admit anyone below 95% because of the large number of students scored 95%.”said a disappointed DU aspirant, Varsha. Even though the official cut off declared was 96.5%, students were admitted at 95%.

Colleges are confused and unable to handle the number of aspirants. Some are overloaded while others are adopting under the table method to admit students. The Delhi University admission procedure certainly requires further improvement. Have something to add about the admission mess around? Share it with us in the comments.
