The Aam Aadmi Party led by CM Arvind Kejriwal today announced the rolling out of odd-even scheme in DU fests.
According to the notice issued by CM’s office, boys and girls will be allowed to attend the fests in DU colleges on odd and even days respectively. The recent cases of mismanagement in fests and the risk of stampedes have forced the party to take such a decision. In an interview with one of our sources the person said, “This is the first phase of rolling out the odd even scheme for boys girls, we will take further decisions on the second phase, which is likely to be related to regular college days, after the results of the first phase.” Breaking the rule would invite a fine of Rs.2000 like always.
Famous leaders like Alka Lamba, Dr. Kumar Vishwas have welcomed this move. Although we are awaiting reactions from the opposition parties, but the issue is already attaining national media attention and trending on Twitter mainly because the move has also come under fire from the Delhi Commission for Women.
In spite of all allegations, the party has decided to proceed with the scheme, with the first phase starting from 20th of February, lasting for 20 days. Our advisory team, taking key notes from the notification days, sympathises with boys and girls alike. Brace yourselves as we expect to witness an entirely different fest season this year!
Disclaimer: At Bazinga, we’re only joking! Have a happy fest season
Twissha Cultural Educational Society organized the eleventh edition of their annual event Delhi Dance Fever’ 16 – a month long competition that culminated with 3 events hosted in Cyber Hub and Saraswati Music College, Safdarjung. Over 30 college teams entered the competition under two categories- Western Dance and Choreography (thematic depiction through dance). These are the links to some of the videos of the participant teams from DU-
For the next round, three dancers were nominated for the auctions from each team and the president of each team had to bid for three new members from different teams to be absorbed into their own team. These new teams then set themselves up for the Finale of the competition that took place at DLF Cyber Hub. In the Finale, the 12 top teams that qualified in the western category then faced another challenge in the form of Round 1, where they had to perform a fusion of different genres of dance on different sound tracks. Each team was to be led by the new auctioned members, some of the top teams were Verve (Shri Venkateshwara), Zeal (Maitreyi), Mudra (Jesus and Mary), Enliven (Gargi), Tanz (Miranda House) and Lady Shri Ram College. Misba (Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce), Verve (Shri Venkateshwara) and Tanz (Miranda House) fought it out for the ultimate title. They were each given a soundtrack to lure in the crowd and make the audience groove. All the three teams gave each other a run for their money and left the energy levels soaring high till the end.
The choreography teams too were pushed to their limits. In the first round, the each team had to depict the theme performed by one of the other colleges which was allotted randomly. The twist in the round was that they had to not only depict but also dramatize the production into a parody. After a round of laughter, the next round was the Broadway round leaving us with the top two teams left to compete for the winner’s title.
Round 3 of Delhi Dance Fever 2016, North v/s South was carried out online. In this round, the teams divided themselves into two groups, North and South, according to the location of their colleges in the University. The best dancers from all the dance teams of North and South Campus respectively, formed a ‘Dream Team’ that competes for the tile of the best dance crew. Videos from both the sides were submitted, and the decision was left to the audience as the video with the maximum likes would win.

Going to the gym after college everyday may sound hard, but making small wardrobe changes is pretty easy. For your most stylish year yet, here are five fashion resolutions you must follow.
1. Experiment with your style
Step away from your usual style. If you enjoy wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans, try wearing a flowy maxi dress instead. If you’re more of a girly-girl, try wearing ripped jeans and a graphic T-shirt. The new year is all about making changes!
2. Start wearing jewellery
Jewellery is a great way to make even a simple outfit stand out!
To really make an impact, go for a pair of statement earrings that will definitely brighten up your face — and your day.
3. Stop wearing neutral colours all the time
Fashion’s new crop of brighter, bolder shades — think bright green or over-the-top yellow — provides brightness to simple outfits. Want more drama? Add prints.
4. Go easy on the make-up
Make-up can make you older than you really are. Use make-up sparingly. Start with a good base and finish with a nude coloured lipstick.
5. Find a bag that you can use for the weekdays as well as the weekends
Go for a big tote with interesting details, such as a quirky print or soothing shade, to earn compliments from all your friends at college.

December 20th, 2015. For most people it was a normal Sunday; get some rest, do some shopping, maybe go watch a movie. But for AIESEC in Delhi IIT, this day marked its grand annual event – Balkalakaar 2015.
This spectacle has its roots embedded in the nation’s responsibility towards the weaker sections of society. It centers around giving a day of fun and frolic to the underprivileged children of Delhi, to put a smile on their faces and spread some festive cheer.
Held at Birla VidyaNiketan, Saket, Balkalakaar was a roaring success, touching the lives of 2,200 children. The project heads of the event were Mandeep Singh and SukritiHanda under the guidance of the local committee president Karan Sawhney. The event wouldn’t have been such a success if not for the support of our sponsors such as Lioness Club, Gandhi Fellowship, Piramal, Ram Medicos, Richlite and Delhi College of Photography. The Chief Guest for the event was the current counselor, ex-mayor of South Delhi and President Women wing BJP Delhi, Mrs. SaritaChoudhary.
Over 200 volunteers turned up for the event, each responsible for maximising the enthralling experience for 20 children. The day began with some classic AIESEC culture – Jives. The event progressed with multiple surprises for the visibly captivated children, a couple of which were a magic show and a live music performance by renowned band, Sankraman.
The main event of the evening was the drawing competition; 2,200 children equipped with pencils, paper and sketch pens pouring their hearts and souls into a simple piece of paper and each was nothing short of a masterpiece. Seeing the smiles on their bright young faces and the glimmer of hope in their eyes, one wouldn’t be exaggerating if he or she were to say that the event had achieved the vision dreamt by AIESEC in Delhi IIT.
Drawing competition at Balkalakaar 2015
The volunteers had plenty to say about their experiences at Balkalakaar. Initially finding the children difficult to handle, they slowly warmed to them, soaking in the happiness on their faces when they were given balloons or played around with balls.
One story that captured the imagination of the masses involved two young girls watching a plane fly over them. Having observed the same, they began to wonder whether they’d ever be lucky enough to touch the sky.
These children have dreams, have wishes, desires and ambitions for the future. What they need is an opportunity, a chance to prove themselves, a path towards a brighter future. As citizens of the nation, it is imperative that we do our bit and help mold the leaders of tomorrow.
