Putting end to all the queries, doubts and apprehensions of eager admission seekers regarding the admission procedure to the course of BMS i.e. Bachelor of Management Studies , Delhi University has issued the related guidelines applicable for admission in the academic year 2014-15 by means of a press release dated June 5th, 2014. Step One – Registration
The online application forms shall be available at www.fms.edu and www.du.ac.in from June 7th – 18th, 2014.
The forms costs Rs.500 for General, Other Backward classes (OBC) and children of war widows (CW) candidates and it costs Rs.250 for candidates belonging to scheduled caste(SC)/scheduled tribe(ST) and disabled candidates.
The admit cards shall be emailed to the registered candidates between June 20th to June 22nd, 2014.
Step Two – Entrance Exam
The entrance test shall be conducted on June 26th, 2014 (Thursday) from 1500 hours to 1700 hours at stipulated exam centers.
There will be equal weight age given to the class XIIth score secured by candidates(50%) as well as the BMS entrance exam(50%).
Step Three – Counselling
The merit list of candidates selected for counseling shall be released on July 4th, 2014 (Friday) at 1700 hours.
Replacing the last year’s interviewing procedure, the counseling session commences on July 6th, 2014.
The subsequent counselling sessions have been scheduled for July 10th, 13th & 17th, 2014.
Step Four: Admission
The students shall have the time of two days for seeking admission in respective colleges, say the students qualifying for admission in first counseling shall have to get themselves admitted on July 7th & 8th, 2014 between 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
In case of vacant seats, FMS will notify the students for any further counselling sessions (if so required).
Post the counseling sessions, admission procedures and other related formalities, the course shall commence from July 21st, 2014 (Monday).

The Delhi University Open Day Program being organised by the Dean of Student’s Welfare Association had its second interaction with admission seeking students and their parents on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014. The main agenda of the day was simplification of the admission procedure, solving of frequently arising queries and familiarizing the students to the working of other DU projects like Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) and Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB).
The day began with a doubt clearing session with Welfare Association volunteers, which was followed by a presentation of admission norms and address by Ms. Savithri Singh (Principal, Acharya Narendra Dev College, DU), Dr. Suprita and Ms. Shobha ( Cluster Innovation Cell in-charges of B.Tech in Humanities and B.Tech in Mathematics & Information Technology) and Professor Khurana, who addressed the common doubts of admission seekers.
Basic Guidelines for admission in Delhi University for under-graduation courses (2014)
While addressing the audience at Conference Centre, North Campus, Professor Khurana said, “The introduction of F.Y.U.P. has been a landmark incident, which brought tremendous rise in applications to Delhi University from 175000 applicants of 2012 to a quarter less than 3 lac applications in 2013. The degree awarded at end of three years is considered equivalent to an under graduation degree, after which students are eligible for employment, MBA or UPSC/ SSC/CGS exams. The fourth year is for students seeking specialization in the subject.”
Apart from this, the following key points related to admissions were discussed on the second Open day of university of Delhi.
Stage One: The Pre-Admission Form
1. There will be a common pre-admission form in the O.M.R. format for all the colleges of University of Delhi, except Jesus and Mary College and St. Stephen’s College, which shall have different application forms available at college premises/ websites.
2. The issue of application forms begins from June 2nd and goes on till June 16th, 2014 (all days except Sundays from 9 A.M to 1 P.M.) and forms shall be available from and submitted at the 18 Admission Information Centres spread in all parts of Delhi.
3. The form should be filled accurately, without cutting/over writing in blue or black ball point ink. Leave a space blank between name and surname, indicate against category/ status of result/ gender clearly.
4. The admission seekers can also apply online at www.du.ac.in, the facility shall be available throughout the day from June 2nd to 16th, 2014.
5. The students shall not be required to submit any documents whatsoever at the time of filling the pre-admission form, except of self attested passport size photograph(s).
6. Any form received by the means of postal delivery shall be summarily rejected. The forms either need to be manually submitted or filled online.
7. Students with Compartment in Board exams or whose result is awaited can also fill in the pre-admission form. The admission, however shall be a subject to the fulfillment of minimum eligibility criterion of the college in which admission is desired.
8. Students belonging to SC/ST/O.B.C./ General category shall be required to indicate their status in the pre-admission form if they so wish to avail the benefit of.
9. However, admissions to colleges by E.C.A./ Sports quota is subject to college’s individual rules and requires the candidates to fill in separate forms for each college. Remember, it is advisable to fill the common pre-admission form as well along with the individual colleges’ E.C.A. oriented forms. If the admission on basis of quota is not awarded, the student can still seek general admission in other colleges.
10. A student can circle as many courses as he wishes to in the pre-admission form. Encircling the courses, automatically makes his registration applicable in all DU colleges that house those courses. One common admission form shall be filled in for all courses.
Stage Two: Computation of Eligibility Criterion/ percentage
a) For selection in Mathematical Sciences/ Science courses
On the basis of marks in P.C.M./ P.C.B. or P.C.M.B. ( P – Physics, C – Chemistry, B – Biology, M – Mathematics)
b) For selection in Humanities/Commerce courses
On the basis of ‘Best of Four’ Percentage which includes:-
i) One compulsory Language subject.
ii) the Discipline- 1 subject; subject in which admission is sought.
iii) Any two elective subjects, the status of elective subjects, defined as follows.

Note:-
– In boards, where commerce is not taught, the subject of ‘Accounts’ shall be considered as the replacement elective subject.
– The student wishing to pursue Commerce, shall be no longer required to have studied Mathematics in Class 12th. However, the students wishful of pursuing Economics are required to have studied Maths in class 12th. Though, it can be avoided in computation of ‘Best of Four’ percentage.
– The student who hasn’t studied the subject he wants to take up as Discipline – 1, shall suffer a disadvantage of 2 percent.
– Any student who hasn’t studied three elective/academic subjects in class 12th, shall incur a disadvantage of 10% of maximum marks (0.1*100 = 10 marks) on each non elective subject included in ‘Best of Four’ percentage.

c) For selection in Honors degree in Business Management.
Equal weight shall be given to the merit i.e. Class 12th Boards result as well as an Entrance test. (Schedule for registration and conduct to be announced shortly.)
Stage Three: The Cut Off Lists (beginning from June 24th, 2014)
1. The cut off lists shall begin to be released from Tuesday, June 24th, 2014, three working days including the date of issue of list shall be allowed for admission procedure and payment of fees in the first five lists, and time of two days for admission in subsequent five lists.
2. Once student has missed seeking admission to a particular college in first cut off slot, the student shall not be allowed to be admitted to the college on basis of any any subsequent cut off lists, even if the required eligibility percentage has fallen down.
3. There shall be separate percentages indicated for candidates from SC/ST/O.B.C./ General categories in each cut off list.
Stage Four: The Process of Admission
1. At the time of admission, the admission seeking candidate shall be required to be present in the college campus along with self attested copies of the following documents.
a) Class Xth & XIIth Mark Sheet.
b) Class Xth Pass Certificate.
c) Class XIIth Pass Certificate (Provisional).
d) Character Certificate.
e) Transfer Certificate.
The documents shall be verified, and once the fees is paid, the admission procedure is completed.
2. Additionally, the students applying for SC, ST or O.B.C. Category shall be required to produce the concerend certificates to avail the benefit at time of admission. Remember, such a certificate should be in the admission seeker’s name, not in the name of parents.
Also, the O.B.C. category certificate should clearly indicate the non creamy layer, the candidate belongs to.
3. If after admission to a particular college, the student becomes eligible for a better college/course in succeeding cutoff lists, the first admission will have to be withdrawn and the college authorities shall return the certificates to the candidate with no delays.
4. If at any time, a student is found to be admitted to more than one college/ in more than one course, both the admissions shall be deemed to be canceled.

Yes. It has happened. Ten seasons. Innumerable magical moments. Life long memories. And Sandra Oh has bid the final adieus to Grey’s Anatomy and her on screen shade – Doctor Cristina Yang.
As fans across the world cope with the departure of one of the strongest characters of television and the GA fans wait for the next installment of show starting from September 25th,2014 here is the journey of Cristina Yang’s life and her friendship with Meredith Grey in twelve highlights.
1. The getting along of the ‘Twisted Sisters’
The beautiful relationship of Meredith Grey & Cristina Yang that went through all phases of happiness, gloom, success, failures, irrevocable personal losses and proud professional highs has had to its credit an equally dramatic start. Both of them, as interns at Seattle Grace Hospital, were working upon the same case. Grey got to be the intern who performed the surgery which Yang longed for. However, the professional competitiveness soon subdued, for the relation had to thrive.
Cristina – “We don’t have to do that thing, where you know, I say something, and then you say something, and somebody cries, and there’s like a moment…”
Meredith – “Yuck”
2. My person, my soul mate, my sole partner in crime
As Meredith drowns in a lake while rescuing a patient in an outstation medical emergency, Cristina gets worried over her sudden disappearance. Cristina, on being questioned about her anxiousness by her husband to be Dr. Preston Burke says, “She’s my person. If I murdered someone, she’s the person I’d call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She’s my person.”
3. All they could do, was to keep breathing!
Dressed in a white wedding gown, Cristina Yang is all set to get married to Preston Burke. The man she loved, for whom she got her eyebrows plucked and the person for whom she performed dozens of extra ordinary Cardiothoracic procedures she wasn’t authorized to, left her at the altar on their wedding day. Yang gets overwhelmed and Meredith consoles her and gets her out of the wedding gown. However, this incident inspires Yang to stand up, for all she says after she retains her composure is, ” He is gone, I am free, Meredith.”
4. Have some fire and be unstoppable!
Cristina who had been the significant pillar for Preston Burke when his hand injury had rendered him incapable of performing surgeries, got no mention when the latter won the prestigious Harper Avery award. This along with her disturbed personal life, made her grow ruder day by day. On being questioned about her well being by a fellow, she said what became, one of the most famous quotes of the show.
Lexie Grey: “Are you okay?”
Cristina Yang: “Don’t ask me if I’m okay. Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature. Be better than anyone here, and don’t give a damn about what anyone thinks. There are no teams here, no buddies. You’re on your own. Be on your own.”
5. The ‘Cro-wen’ Paradox
Cristina Yang gradually falls in love again with a trauma surgeon, Dr. Owen Hunt who joins work at hospital after a tough life as a surgeon in the army. The spark between the two is amazing, the love is bold and passionate. However, their life isn’t that easy, courtesy Owen’s initial aggressive flashbacks and their different desires from and meaning of life.
6. Had I known how to save a life!
As a shooter enters the premises of Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital in a bid to murder all the surgeons to avenge his wife’s death, Dr. Derek Shepherd is shot in chest. To save the life of her friend’s husband Cristina performs a surgery with gun at her temple with amazing grit and smartness. This by far continues to be, one of the strongest moments of the show.
7. I know she likes the trauma
The act of shooting and operating at gun point leaves Dr. Yang traumatized for months. Not being able to come to terms with the excruciating pressure, she gives up medical practice and finds alternative employment, including bar-tending at Joe’s bar. However, as Derek takes her off on a fishing spree, she catches a giant one. As she feels the taste of success and rush of adrenaline again, she realizes what is missing from her life after giving up surgery. That moment of tears of happiness from Cristina Yang’s eyes, priceless!

8. The continuous consuming interrogation by Teddy Altman
After months of training under cardiac surgeon Dr. Teddy Altman, Yang has to perform an emergency surgery on Altman’s husband due to her pre-occupation. Cristina puts the best of her medical skills to test, but the patient dies. When informed about Henry’s death, she asks Cristina to repeat the procedure followed time and again to evaluate it. She says, “You did all what I would have done in that OR, Don’t be sorry.”
One of the most emotional scenes of the series, it shows the actress’s talent of conveying most in the minimal words.
8. Seattle Grace Mercy ‘Death’, the place where bad things happen
Post the plane crash that claims the lives of two major doctors of the hospital and with terrorist attacks and shootings in backdrop, Cristina Yang gets sick of the place replete with deaths, dearths and disorders and decides to leave the hospital for a job elsewhere. However, her tuning with Meredith is the same, relationship is no where strained, they stay in touch. The catch phrase “You’re my person” comes up again, Yang gradually overcomes the fear of planes and ultimately gets back to her parent hospital to revive it from a financial crisis. ( now called the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.)
9. Somebody that I used to know!
Competition, jealousy and ego can ruin all relations. The same happened in the relation of ‘the twisted sisters’. As Meredith became a family woman, Cristina’s career scaled new heights. Consequently, there were things said and interpreted, all of which envisaged a cold war. However, soon came a face off, where in things got cleared.
10. If love could be ‘enough’ to keep people together!
Cristina and Owen were deeply in love, but sadly there wasn’t a way in which both of their lives could run in parallel without making the compromises that would alter their individual definitions and existence. Hence, Cristina found that the best way was to let it go.
11. Tall towers, false shadows: The Harper Avery fiasco
One of the most hyped and prestigious awards in medicine, the Harper Avery Award – 2014 had Cristina Yang as a nominee, she being one of the five forerunners. However, the internal politics at the Harper Avery Board and Board’s relation with the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital screwed up the chances of Yang winning the award, even though her 3D conduits had the jury’s vote.
12. This is not the end, this is not the beginning!
While addressing a conference about her 3D conduits in Zurich, Yang meets Preston Burke again, the man who once left her at the altar, offers Yang to takeover for him at a research hospital in Switzerland. Yang knows this is the next step for her, gradually finishes over her work and dealings at Seattle and shifts her base of operation to Switzerland bidding adieus to her companions of over ten years with some ‘stay in touch’ promises, compassionate hugs,pieces of advice, emotional goodbyes and the last ‘Cristina -Meredith’ 30 seconds dance party.
It is rather magical how both of the friends have been there for one another in all times, despite of difference of opinions, attitudes and cultures. Even though the television saga would continue to go on without her, but for sure, both the friends would continue to influence each other’s lives for ever. For that’s what friendship means, to be together, even if not physically around.

Lok Sabha Elections 2014 are here. The voting scheduled to take place in nine phases throughout the country from April 7th,2014 to May 12th, 2014 has already started. The first phase constituting of 6 of the 543 seats being contested for, saw a voter turnout of a whooping 79.5%. The graph has of course risen and is a healthy sign for the Mandate 2014.
A mega turn out like this could mean resentment in minds and desire for change in hearts of people. Only as the process unfolds further we shall know, whether this trend continues in the phases to come and if it leads to sustenance of current throne holders or formation of anti incumbent government. However, another aspect to attribute this turnout could be the increasing glamour quotient of election contenders and an upsurge in technology driven promotion.
As glamour embraces politics!
Indian politics is no longer what it used to be decades ago. Nor is the image of Indian ‘neta’ same any longer. The white kurta dhoti guy with specs resting on his nose and hands resting on his round belly, wearing a Nehru jacket and a Gandhi topi atop his head ceases to exist in real and is only to be found in works of fiction. Indian leaders today are dynamic,brand conscious,completely informed, well dressed and nowhere less as the demarcating line between politics and glamour industry is gradually disappearing.
Bollywood celebrities like Dharmendra Deol, Hema Malini and Late Sunil Dutt have been into politics for decades. This year too, numerous Bollywood celebrities are looking for a decent second innings in politics. Kirron Kher (BJP Chandigarh), MNS candidate Mahesh Manjrekar, Samaajwadi Party’s Kamaal Rashid Khan, BJP’s Smriti Z. Irani (from Amethi) and Paresh Rawal (from East Ahemdabad) are some of such names who’ve been a part of the glitzy industry and now wish to serve the people. In addition Congress is also fielding veteran actors such as Ravi Kishan, Aparijata Mohanty and Nagma as contenders from their party.
Also, 2014 elections witnessed an inflow of young and fresh blood into the system with numerous ticket receivers being representatives of the youth of the nation. Gul Panag (AAP Chandigarh), Babul Supriyo( BJP West Bengal), TMC’s actor Indraneil Sengupta, AAP’s Jaaved Jaaferi and Rashtriya Aam Party’s Rakhi Sawant are few famous people to name. The list isn’t just limited to Bollywood but also famous sports personalities like former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif, famous footballer Baichung Bhutia and magician P.C. Sorcar Jr. are also contesting Lok Sabha 2014 polls.
As the glamour quotient of politicians is rising, India is eventually having leaders with better personalities and perspectives. Also, the celebrities have their own fan base, which helps them to garner support in this new arena. The goodwill of celebrities comes handy for the party too, and as people have seen them and heard of them, the celebrities eventually have an advantage over their fellow contenders who are relatively unknown. In the elections of 2014 too, some celebrity seats like Amethi shall be interesting to keep an eye on.
In Social Media’s Ambit
The Lok Sabha Elections 2014 are the first ones to come after internet, smart phones and social networking sites like Facebook & Twitter have become household names and their updates have become the topic of dinner table discussions. No matter any other industry has or has not, but politicians have very well exhausted this unique methodology to reach out to the people at relative ease and cost efficiency. All major politicians and parties have launched their Facebook pages and Twitter handles that keep the party supporters and public updated on movements and activities of their leaders.
Arvind Kejriwal, who is being considered the pioneer of this new trend, has used it smartly enough, that within few years of its formation and function, the party tops the Twitter followers list, leaving behind the traditional twin parties – INC & BJP.
AAP tops the list in popularity ratings based on Twitter followers of the three major parties in India.
This can be attributed to Kejriwal’s spontaneity with updates and posts, leaders’ humorous twitter conversations and patience of accepting sportingly even the negative most regards and gestures with utmost grace. He was also seen engaging in a conversation with the attacker, an auto driver Lali who allegedly slapped him in his rally. The video footage have been posted online, pictures uploaded on Facebook, indeed the best way of social media marketing.
Arvind Kejriwal tweeted a parody song made to mock his frequent staging of Dharnas, refering to it as an ‘interesting song’ on February 16th, 2014.
Numerous social media websites like Facebook & Twitter have been carrying out surveys and online opinion polls to provide insights into what voters feel. Facebook has been showcasing leading parties and candidates status at a glance, while Twitter is running ‘#ElectionTracker2014‘. Another social media platform, Social Samosa, is carrying out another election tracking mechanism that shows politician popularity in terms of positive/negative mentions on Twitter/ Web for voters to judge
Another interesting trend observed in terms of unofficial online promotion, has been of the ‘Norinder Mudi’ memes, that combines random lines with the jingle ab ki baar, Modi sarkar. The idea has gone viral, and off late, similar memes on Arvind Kejriwal have also begun to circulate in social networking circles.
Not only has social media eased the way of reaching the masses, it has also led to some tiffs, jibes and cold wars among competitors. The recent Kirron Kher – Gul Panag face off on micro blogging website – Twitter has been an example of the same.
Doubt if I’ll have the energy to run around like this and serve my people, when I’m 60.I guess that’s why there’s normally a retirement age.
Thus in all, the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, have been different in all terms, from participation to promotion. The trend till date is encouraging, and it is hoped to continue, for Democracy is a religion, elections are the festivals, wherein everyone is supposed to celebrate and participate. Don’t merely exist, make your say count, make a difference, for there is ample information available, in news dailies and on TV, on radios and with experienced people, and now even at a distance of a few clicks.

The department of Business Economics at Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, Delhi University organised its maiden Corporate meet, Ensemble’14 on April 5th, 2014. The objective of the meet was to provide for working corporate officers and undergraduate student interaction and to provide an atmosphere where the officials could explain the features of corporate culture and the recent developments in the corporate world to the students of business.
The meet organized for students of Business Economics and Management Studies, was inaugurated by Mr. Upkar Joshi (founding member at Accent Capital). The meet was attended by around thirty senior corporate executives; all of whom were alumni of BBE program from the same college. Thus, the meeting proved to be a strong bonding exercise between the college’s current BBE-BMS students and pass outs who work in big corporate firms now.
Ensemble’14 saw participation from numerous corporate businessmen from different industries, including Mr. Upkar Joshi (Founding Partner at Accent Capital), Ms. Jyoti Bhandari (Director, Finance, L&T Capital), Mr. Abhishek Sharma (Vice President, Operations, Ixigo), Mr. Sugam Jain (Founder at Go – Paisa).
The meet was organized under the guidance of Dr. Rakesh Sahani, Associate Professor, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College. “It has been a wonderful experience to interact with such accomplished people from different corporate industries. A memorable moment for all of us. A zeal was noticed among the students to get their queries clarified and to get the right direction and guidance from career point of view.” says, Vishu Kapoor, member of Organizing Committee, Ensemble’2014.

The festival began with a guest lecture by Ms. Vidushi Chaturvedi, Education Director, NDMC. The learned lady stressed upon the real meaning of education, asked the youth to successfully challenize their untapped potential and powerhouse of energy for the best of society. ” Stay intoxicated. The day ended with exhilarating musical performances by two famous bands playing altogether different genres catering to the taste of all people. While one performance was by the alternative rock band ‘Circus’ the second performance was by the Sufi music band ‘ Centrifugal’. As people threw their hands in air with the former performance, the latter was rather a delightful soul touching one. This musical note was further carried forward with the DJ night.
Altogether, Day One at Ambrosia was replete with numerous fun packed events. Day Two too, has some interesting events like bad singing & dancing, self composed poetry,scavenger hunt & tug of war lined up. The festival shall culminate with Punjabi singer & ‘Rap da Badshah’ Bohemia performing at DCAC live.

The Advertising association of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (DCAC) held its annual advertising festival ‘Parivartan’ on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014. The one day festival began with a panel discussion on the topic – ‘Communicating brand values to the Facebook Generation‘ followed by an array of events like Ad-Mad competition, Minute to win it & Scavenger Hunt, all idealized on the theme of festival ‘advertising’.
The panel discussion highlighted the role of two way social media and its rapid advancement into the advertising sector. The distinguished panel of speakers consisted of Mr. Sandeep Bannerjee (VP,Hammer Communication, Ex GM, McCanne Healthcare), Ms. Shweta Baxi Tyagi (VP, Digiqom) and social media expert Mr. Anshuman Gandhi.
Beginning with Mr. Bannerjee’s pointing out of the rather diverse variety of products that has bombarded the consumer with infinite choices today, the discussion unfolded with social media’s advantages as well as misuse in case of manipulations and overstatements. On being questioned upon, how social media could wrongly impact the brand image of product if a single customer states his dissatisfaction on a public discussion forum, Mr. Anshuman called such a scenario as an ‘opportunity’. “Someone who is annoyed with our product/service isn’t a liability, but an opportunity. He wishes to widen his outlook, is seeking attention and is ready for change. The organization should satisfy him, treat him wonderfully, make him the brand ambassador”, Mr. Anshuman added.
On the same lines, Ms. Shweta cited real life instances like the American Express & Jet Airways to explain as to how negative response from a customer could be successfully churned into a positive opportunity.
On being questioned upon the role of social media in establishing political brand names, the panelists took the example of the Kejriwal wave that swayed all people and simultaneously set a benchmark as to the best use of online media. “The live updates by political big-shots on Facebook and Twitter keep the public informed and impressed. Numerous social media sites like Social Samosa carry out daily percentages of people supporting different parties/candidates.” said Ms. Shveta Tyagi.
Countering the attacks like online marketing being one sided, or over hyped or out of time, Mr. Sandeep Bannerjee said, “So long as we entertain the audiences, not merely engage them, social media would continue to be an eminent source of delivering brand values.”

Apart from the Panel Discussion, there were events like Scavenger hunt, Ad-Mad, Minute to win it, kite flying competition, Poster making, solo & group dance competitions conducted in the festival. The vigor and brain of the festival, Ma’am Neeru Kapoor expressed her happiness and contentment saying, “All the competitions attracted significant participation and the panel discussion engaged the students very well. We’ve got appreciation from everyone alike, the goal of organizing Parivartan for us, stands fulfilled.”
Spektrum, the two-day long commerce & management festival of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce was organized on the 24th and 25th of March, 2014. The festival, organised by the Commerce Association of DCAC was an amalgam of guest lectures, competitive events and the presence of Pulkit Samrat & Bilal Amrohi, the male leads of the upcoming Bollywood movie ‘O Teri’.

As the tagline of Spektrum’14 was, ‘Amaze. Inspire. Achieve.’, the festival opened with inspirational guest lecture by Mr. Maheshwar Peri, Founder, Outlook on the topic ‘Right Place, Right Time’. This was followed by another lecture by Mr. Anubhav Khiwani, Founder, Denetim and alumni of DCAC from the class of 2005. Apart from sharing his college memories and experience, the address had an inspirational angle to it too. “The killer instinct is always to prove yourself, so, never give up”, Mr. Khiwani said during his address.

The Array of Events
1. Polemic Foe: The Commercial Covert
The event was designed to test the knowledge, speaking skills and confidence of the selected six finalists on topics given extempore. However, this came with a twist, as each round had a covert, who was equipped with helping aid, in form of pointers related to given topic. Hence, along with the said, it also tested the presence of mind, balancing streak and ability to accurately guess and eliminate the covert.

The event focused on the importance of inventory management in the cost profit relations of an organization.

3. The Sensatus Business Challenge
A flagship event of Spektrum’2014, SBC hosted a unique business and idea auction, inviting bids from various investors and arranging for a face off of ideas in front of a distinguished jury.

5. Commusic – The Commerce & Music Quiz
A far more interesting quiz than the traditional grilling & tough question-answers, Commusic questioned the participating teams on easy commerce & music related questions, something everyone related to. The concept being new was widely accepted as 70 teams participated in the fun filled event that went on for three rounds.

The closing ceremony of DCAC’s Spektrum was graced up by the presence of actor Pulkit Samrat & Bilal Amrohi, who had come to the college campus for the promotion of their upcoming flick – ‘O Teri’ scheduled to release on March 28th, 2014. The actors were seen interacting with students as well as teachers, distributing CDs , signing T shirts and dancing in their short fifteen minutes appearance to a packed audience desirous of witnessing more of the two leads.
