SGGSCC has directed strict compliance with the minimum attendance requirements for eligibility to appear in the December 2026 end semester examinations.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC), University of Delhi, has directed students to maintain a minimum attendance of 66.7% to be eligible to appear in the December 2026 end semester examinations, according to a notice issued on October 16.

The notice, issued by the principal Prof. Kawal Gill, states that students whose attendance falls below the prescribed minimum attendance requirement of 66.7% will not be permitted to appear for the examinations of December 2026. Those failing to meet this threshold may be barred from entering the examination hall, with their admit cards liable to be withdrawn. The college has also reiterated that submitting an affidavit for attendance shortage in the previous semester does not exempt students from meeting the attendance requirements in the current semester.

The minimum attendance requirement is governed by the University of Delhi’s attendance rules. Under DU’s Ordinance VII, certain provisions allow for attendance related concessions in some circumstances. These include participation in NCC, NSS, representing their respective college in cultural/ youth festivals, or engaging in civil defence activities. Similar relaxation may also be granted on genuine medical grounds, subject to the submission of valid medical certificates. However, such provisions are subject to the conditions mentioned in the ordinance and the discretion of the college authorities; they do not constitute an automatic exemption from attendance requirements. Under the university’s guidelines, attendance also accounts for 5% weightage in the calculation of the internal assessment marks.

The college has, therefore, advised all the students to take the issued notice seriously and ensure strict compliance to avoid any inconvenience or disqualification from the December examinations.
