The History and Political Science Society of Shri Ram College of Commerce organized their Annual Fest ‘Odyssey 2016’ on 18th and 19th of February. The two day fest witnessed participation by students from various colleges in the events conducted by the society.
Day 1 marked the Speaker Session wherein eminent personalities from the fields of politics and media came to voice their opinions. The theme for the session was ‘The Changing Face of Indian Society- the good and the bad’. The inaugural speaker, Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Former Chief Minister of Delhi, had an interactive session with the students. The students wished to know her comparative views about the current government and policies in Delhi to that of her government. The next speaker was Mr. Manish Tewari, Former Union Minister who spoke about his days in the varsity as the NSUI President.
The floor was taken over next by actor and social reformer Varun Pruthi. Famous on social media for his social acts and financial service to the needy, Varun expressed his idea of change, ‘Changing one’s own life is no big deal, changing someone else’s is what really matters’. The last speaker for the day was Mr. Mihir Sharma, Opinion Editor for Business Standard who shed light on the significant changes in various sectors of the Indian market.
Day 2 comprised of various on-campus events including the flagship events of the society, namely IPL Auction and Globetrotter- the world quiz along with Treasure-Scavenger Hunt and Blueblooded.
