On the late night of October 6th, a fire broke out at the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) office at Law Centre-I in North Campus. 

According to the Delhi Fire Service, the incident was reported at 11:53 pm. Five water tenders were dispatched to the university premises after the fire was reported.

The blaze was confined to a sofa and other furniture inside the DUSU office and was subsequently brought under control by the responding fire personnel. The fire did not spread beyond the immediate area, according to the officials. No casualties were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire has not been specified in the initial reports. Further details regarding the extent of property damage or the circumstances leading to the fire are awaited.

The DUSU office is located within the Law Centre-I premises. Law Centre-I is a constituent centre of the University of Delhi’s Faculty of Law and is situated in North Campus. Established in 1970, it has been associated with legal education and student activities for over five decades. The old DUSU office was demolished recently, over the weekend of 30th August to 31st August.
