The Central Placement Cell of Delhi University will be conducting a series of weekly webinars for its students from 5 to 6 pm starting from 4^th May.

For undergraduate and postgraduate students, the Central Placement Cell of the University of Delhi (DU) has planned a series of webinars on various topics that ought to help students in their professional lives. Apart from these webinars, the varsity has also decided upon conducting a webinar on COVID-19 and the challenges of the visually impaired.

The five webinars will be free of cost and will be organized weekly starting from the 4^th May. The students will be required to register online prior to the webinar. The link to the webinar can be found on the official website of Delhi University http://www.du.ac.in/du/. These webinars will take place on Mondays from 5 to 6 pm. Experts from various fields will apprise the attendees on various topics that will help them in improving their resumes and giving better interviews. The list of the webinars is given below-

Gen Z and Jobs of the Future- 4th May 2020
Business Ethics- 11th May 2020
Introduction of Data Analytics- 18th May 2020
Case Studies- 25th May 2020
Resume and Interview tips and tricks- 1st June 2020

The webinar on COVID-19 will most likely be addressed by Shakuntala D Gamlin, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Person with Disabilities. The Vice-Chancellor (VC) Yogesh Tyagi will be among eleven people who will be attending the webinar.

“These weekly webinars will prove to be useful for students looking to improve their resumes and to gain knowledge about business ethics and data analytics,” said Tejasvi, a student at Lady Shri Ram College.

The varsity has also issued a notice for students stating that the Academic Calendar has been modified by extending the date of dispersal of classes from 28th April 2020 to 15th May 2020. This notice has officially shifted the plausible date of semester examinations that are still being discussed.

The varsity is also taking forward the admission process for the session of 2020-21. The last date to submit applications for foreign students seeking admission in UG is 12^th June. Applications for Indian citizens are yet to be released.

Delhi University’s Central Placement Cell to organise an internship fair for DU students

If you are one of the DU students who often plan to go back to home because there is nothing to do during summers, then you might change your plans after reading this news.

Delhi University’s Central Placement Cell (CPC) is organizing an internship fair for students of Delhi University on 18^th and 19^th April, 2017. The fair which is being organised for the first time in the university will be open to all the students who are enrolled in any regular program of the university. Students of all the colleges of the university and even masters’ students of the university are eligible for participation. The fair will take place in the Conference Centre of the university which is located opposite to department of botany in the north campus area.

The participation in the fair would be entirely free of cost for both students and companies and would also include a free capacity enhancement session for the students by experts. “We want the students to engage to get practical work exposure during this summer. This will help them in future” says Aishwariya Jha, who is one of the student coordinators for the fair.

The students need to register for the fair through the cpc website. Moreover the option of ‘on the spot’ registrations are also available. “We advice students to register online to avoid the rush” says Aishwariya.

Students of all courses and years are eligible for internship. All they would require is to bring their resume (6 numbers) in order to participate in the fair. They can learn about how to create a perfect resume here.

Central Placement Cell opens registrations

The Central Placement Cell has begun its registrations of both placements and internships for the academic year 2015-16. The varsity’s CPC serves as a platform in providing quality placements to students in reputed multinationals, government organizations, NGO’s and private companies. It acts as an interface between companies and students, channelizing talent towards opportunity.

The CPC assures logistic support to companies from the very beginning of the recruitment process. The university is equipped with a variety of infrastructural facilities such as the Conference hall, Library, Equal Opportunity Cell (to empower students with physical disabilities), Training Laboratories, International Relation, etc. to facilitate the entire process.

The registration is quite a simple process. Interested students can create a login ID with a password at the CPC official website http://placement.du.ac.in. Registered students will be eligible to receive updates regarding placements and internships via emails and text messages. They’ll be provided with regular assistance and counselling for employment and entrepreneurship. The procedure includes a pre-placement presentation by the company, followed by the main placement process carrying a written test, group discussion and personal interview. The steps may vary as per the company’s discretion.

The recruitment process pumped up last year with over 850 students getting placed and pay packages weighing as heavy as Rs.8 lacs per annum. Multinationals like HCL Technologies, Wipro, Accenture, Genpact, and Tata Capital are in close liaison with the CPC. There was great hike in internship offers as well.
