Film and Media Council of Indian Institute of Technology, (BHU) Varanasi is one of the most extravagant organizations working in the fields of digital media and visual arts. FMC constitutes of six clubs with each club specializing in the areas of animation, cinematography, photography, design, media and outreach respectively. This student run body has always strived to deliver high-quality content and become better than what they were yesterday. It has proven itself as the pioneer of creative media, and has developed a strong foundation for itself in the campus within few years of its inception, by being the backbone of digital coverage for all events of the college and thus providing the institution, a strong virtual identity. Every year, FMC boasts of producing a plethora of digital art ranging from enchanting designs to critically acclaimed films and animations. With such a wide scope, it became almost impossible for the clubs to showcase the true potential of the council and therefore, to display their best-of-best, the council developed an extravagant festival called “FMC Weekend”.
The Weekend, which blooms into its own magnificence by the efforts of the Film and Media Council, IIT BHU, cradles formal events pertaining to every vertical along with movie screenings, informal events and captivating guest talks from dignitaries belonging to the different walks of life. It is a breath-taking experience and an opportunity to witness the talents of the crème de la crème of the country through two exhilarating days. The festival is scheduled for 4th and 5th November 2017. This year, with its fourth edition of the creative bonanza, FMC Weekend feels proud to announce, the most luminous personality in the field of animation, Randy Haycock, as their patron.
Randy Haycock, an extremely talented personality, is known for his unmatched delivery in various Disney movies of international acclaim. His work constitutes of a wide spectrum of character animation ranging from his animation of “Adult Simba” in the film “The Lion King,” depicting a fierce and enduring personality to a character design of “Moana,” an adventurous, headstrong, strong-willed lady in the film “Moana,” gives us an example of his unparalleled versatility. His work in movies like “Tarzan”, “Aladdin”, “Frozen”, and “Meet the Robinsons” has set his benchmark in the Hollywood industry and has brought him fame from all parts of the world.
His support has provided this festival with a new zest of energy and enthusiasm, and has also been instrumental in taking this event to another level.
