The phase one Donation Drive of the campaign ‘Let’s Spread Love’ was organised on October 25, 2016 from 3 pm to 8 pm.
The activities of the campaign led by Naman jain were carried out by a total number of 15 volunteers. The clothes were sponsored by ‘Clothes box Foundation’ as their support to the noble cause. The clothes were distributed among thousands of people including all age groups on various trigger points in east Delhi including Seemapuri Slum, Sai mandir and Balaji mandir.
A major support by ‘ You Can Foundation’ was also appreciable. People thronged the area, caused difficulties due to which chocolates were not distributed, but were soon donated to the children in an orphanage by You Can Foundation as a token of love. Various people blessed the volunteers for the noble and kind act and also wished them Happy DIWALI.
Thereafter, a lot of clothes were distributed by the group of volunteers on the pathways of Sai Mandir near Savita Vihar and Balaji Mandir in Vivek Vihar and the people were extremely supportive.
On being asked, Naman said, “Nothing could be a better experience than the smile that I saw on those innocent faces which was my real reward. I urged people to come forward and donate on their individual level. We aimed to donate around 500 clothes but with the help of various people, we were able to donate around 1000 clothes. All the volunteers seemed satisfied and the happiness on their faces described everything. We faced a lot of problems in the beginning but at the end we were able to manage everything.“
The main aim of the event was to bring smiles on the innocent faces of those needy and helpless people who were deprived of clothes, food etc, to spring Diwali merriment in the lives of the impoverished sections of the society and to cherish those smiles when our little efforts made such a big difference.
The team and volunteers consisted of: Naman Jain, Sourabh Singhal, Karan Jain, Yogita Malhotra, Aditya Nama, Taranjeet Saini, Riya Garg, Shreya Goyal, Nidhi, Tanushree Singh, Abhishek Jain, Prateek Kumar, Kangan Vohra and Anas Shamsi
