<![CDATA[Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Institute of Management and Research (BVIMR) is hosting MUN'esco 2014 on the15th and 16th of January. A new entrant to the city's active MUN-ing scene, MUN'esco promises to be an event unlike any other. It is aimed at providing the youth with an "educative platform and giving them a clearer perspective on events of international importance." MUN'esco 2014 will comprise of three councils, namely, The General Assembly (DISEC), The Human Rights Council, and The Economic and Social Council. The agendas have been chosen keeping in mind the objective to maintain a high level of debate. 'Mitigating the threat of international maritime security' is the agenda for the General Assembly. The Human Rights Council has set the weighty issue of 'Right to privacy with special focus on illicit online surveillance' as its agenda, and the Economic and Social Council has come up with 'Energy security with special emphasis on non renewable resources' as its agenda. The Executive Board of MUN’esco 2014 is made up of seasoned MUNers, with Abinaswar Das chairing the General Assembly, co- chaired by Aparna Dubey and Karan Rana as the vice chairperson. The chairperson of the Economic and Social Council is Ajay Sabharwal, the co- chairperson is Daksh Jaiswal and the rapporteur is Maryam Raja. Nayanika Verma will be heading the Human Rights Council, which will be co- chaired by Sankalp Dikshit and rapporteured by Indraneil. The event has already drawn in a good number of applications from various institutions.
