#Admissions2022: Six New Courses Introduced in DU SOL

With the start of the admissions of DU SOL, a new list of six courses have been launched for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Read on to know more.


On Wednesday, October 5, the School of Open Learning, University of Delhi (DU SOL), opened registration for admission to its six recently introduced undergraduate and graduate programs that are focused on the workforce. The application forms are accessible on the university’s official websites (sol.du.ac.in or col.du.ac.in). 

These six brand-new programs include a Masters of Business Administration, a Bachelors of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), a Bachelors of Management Studies, a Bachelors of Arts-Economics (Hons), a Bachelors of Library and Information Sciences, and a Masters of Library and Information Sciences.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Distance Education Bureau gave their proper approval before these courses were launched, according to Payal Mago, director of the Campus of Open Learning.

These are very important courses–BBA, MBA, which is a very prestigious course of DU, Bachelor of Management Studies. There are management courses and job-oriented courses. A lot of students are unable to get admission into Economic courses in regular mode. This is also a flagship course of Delhi University.

As opposed to the adoption of Common University Entrance Test(CUET) while inducting students in this session for regular courses, this will not be the case with these courses. According to a formal announcement made by DU SOL, admission to these programs will be based on Class 12th marks rather than results from CUET UG 2022. The last date to apply is 31st October 2022. 

Steps of Filling the Form

  • Firstly, a student needs to visit the official website of SOL—col.du.ac.in and sol.du.ac.in. 
  • From the menu on the home page, click on the online registration link. 
  • Fill out the essential information asked on the redirected page to register.
  • For the next step, enter your login information, complete the application, and then pay the application fee.
  • The final step is to submit the information.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Programmes

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis): The required score for the general candidate is 65% overall and 60% in mathematics on the Class 12 test or its equivalent. Candidates from the OBC and EWS groups have to have 58.5 percent overall and 54% in math. SC/ST candidates must have passed Class 12 whereas PwBD candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of 61.75 percent with a minimum math score of 57 percent.
  • Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS): A general candidate must receive 60% overall and 60% in mathematics in their Class 12 exam, or its equivalent. Candidates from the OBC and EWS must have a Class 12 GPA of 54% with a 50% Math score. Candidates in the PwBD category must have a cumulative grade point average of 57%, including 57% in math, while candidates in the SC/ST category must have completed Class 12 and passed with at least one language.
  • B.A.(Honours) Economics: Candidates from the general category must have received 60% in the Class 12 examination or its equivalent; OBC and EWS candidates must have received 54%; PwBD candidates must have received 57% in the Class 12 examination, and SC and ST candidates must have received 60% in the Class 12 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
  • B.A. Library of Information Sciences (BLISc): Candidates must have graduated from a university that is accredited.

Postgraduate Programmes

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA): Graduation from an accredited university with a minimum grade point average of 50% in any discipline
  • Master of Arts Library and Information Sciences (MLISc): The candidate must have completed a BLISc program at a university that is accredited.

Yogesh Singh, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Delhi University, had previously stated that the SOL had been in existence for 60 years, but that no new courses had been introduced in a very long period.
