Infrastructure at Delhi University has always been a recurring issue, with several colleges not possessing enough space for the large influx of students that study there. Outstation students are often forced to find alternate places of accommodation due to no provision of a hostel in their respective colleges, and the recent over admissions due to the cutoffs last year have contributed to the heavy burden lying on most colleges, exposing how ill-equipped they are. Many colleges possess empty grounds and old dilapidated buildings which are lying unused. In such cases, maximising the usage of the land available may help offset some of the burdens, although it is by no means enough to completely alleviate it considering that the problem does not lie in empty spaces not being used- it lies in the limited amount of quality governmental institutions offering higher education in the country.
