DUSU Protests Against China; Burn Effigy & Flag

DUSU and other student representatives protested against China’s actions at the Line of Actual Control. They burnt a Chinese effigy and the Chinese national flag.

On Friday, 19th June 2020, the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) accompanied by other student representatives of the university, protested against China in condemnation of the abhorrent violence shown by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The union also paid tribute to the valour and gallantry of the Indian soldiers.

The Press Release circulated by DUSU mentioning the act of protest.

The barbaric acts of the Chinese army at the LAC against Indian soldiers during a face-off in Ladakh which lead to 20 Indian soldiers being martyred, has received condemnation from people and nations in every corner of the world. Amidst this, the DUSU along with other student representatives of the university lead a protest against the savagery of the Chinese army by burning a Chinese effigy and the Chinese national flag.

“21st century India is capable of stopping China’s expansionist policy. India’s fight against illegal Chinese expansionism will get a tough response to any of China’s cowardly acts on our virtuous homeland. Every student stands firmly with the Government of India and the Indian Army.”

The union also paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who had been martyred in the border clash and expressed their condolences to the affected families. “Representatives paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who received Veergati in defending the homeland and offering a stern retaliation to the Chinese,” said DUSU in a Press Release.
