NISHESH BHASIN:Hello People!
I’m Nishesh Bhasin, pursuing Economics Honours from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, and am in my second year now.
I’m a photographer for DUBeat, and life for me is through the lens..
For me, ‘Everything the light touches, is my kingdom’, and that is the rule of the lens!! I am a pretty simple person.
I am DUB.
CHESHTHA GUPTA:Being a 1st year economics student, in a way I’ve mastered the art of maximizing my utility in terms of whatever I do.
But again, I’m sure there’s still more to learn. Love horror movies and anything and everything purple.
Hate saturday college, especially when it’s been set with the choicest of lectures for the day.
You’d best find me hanging out at mithas discussing anything whatsoever, discovering new places and debating to prove a point.
Oh and here, because of my love for writing! I could easily sum it up with what Homer Simpson says, “Stupid risks make life worth living.”
SHWETA ARORA:A passionate environmentalist, a poor chemist, a typical DU street theatre artist, I am a 3rd year Chemistry student in Miranda House.
Saying ‘I love travelling and reading’ does sound clichéd, so I’d put it as ‘I love trekking and reading’.
If there’s one phrase that can define me, it’s ‘crazy to learn’. Chemistry, theatre and writing, I love juggling them together.
Ralph Waldo Emerson’s words “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better”, keep me going.
SYED HAMZA:Syed Mohammad Hamza, BA (h) economics, 2nd year. from Hans Raj College.
I am the editor of economics department’s “yearbook” and the editor of photography for Barefoot: the Indian Football Magazine. Other than that i like cycling, sleeping and eating.. .
ARUSHI MAKHIJA:”You never lose by loving..you lose by holding back”
A second year economics hons. Student from Lady Sri Ram College, i am passionate about dancing , and i feel, the stage is where i belong.
A multi-tasker by both habit and choice, i like to keep myself busy in trying to learn some or the other skill/art.
My philosophy in life is to try and look at the positive side of things(until ,unless the worldly pressures are drowning enough).
SAPNA MATHUR:I love images and the stories they tell, however big or small those stories may be. With DU Beat I explored some more and it has been a good experience clicking pictures for them, with some writing as well.
AMRITA DASGUPTA: More often than not, calling me Amrita Dasgupta should entitle one to a reasonable response to their banter.
I can be most effectively spotted strolling in and around Hindu College with a clique that could also be found in a final year classroom of Physics honours in the aforementioned institute.
Favourite quote : “You’re just as sane as I am.”– Luna Lovegood
TAZMEEN SIDDIQUI-
A first year english literature student of LSRC, a keen observer and a non judgemental yet opinionated person, I feel writing gives me my own voice and allows me to express myself. I think on paper!
“to live and be something,
To do more than just breathe,
To discover truth and,
In that truth be free…”
PRIYANKA TAMPI:I’m Priyanka Tampi, eco hons 3rd year from Jesus and Mary College and all I need to survive is some air, a piece of charcoal and some drawing sheets.
“There is no art to find the mind’s construction in the face” Shakespeare.
SHASHANK GUPTA:Unlike my colleagues I’m not the one who writes an article with intrinsic details and ornate wordings.
Being an economics student, I’ve learnt to do my work with perfection, in a simple yet immaculate manner.
Although I’ve read the usual Dan Brown and Jackie Collin publications I am quite literally at loss of words when people around me start discussing the new bestseller by John Grisham or so.
Not surprisingly then my favorite book is ‘David Beckham’s autobiography- My Side.
Owner to the fancy title of ‘Sports Editor’ of DU Beat, I try to bring out my passion and enthusiasm in my work.
Being a Manchester United fan (I can see you frown), my favorite quote is by none other than Captain fantastic Roy Keane:
“Fail to prepare, Prepare to fail”.
DRISHTI TANTIA: I am Drishti Tantia , member of the marketing team of Dubeat. I’m currently pursuing Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from Gargi College, Delhi University.
I love to interact with diverse people and I’m a huge fan of cricket. Work is my passion and my favourite quote is ‘Go Green’.
VYOM ANIL: I am studying political science(H), final year at Sri Venkateswara College.
My Quote- Grow rich or die trying.
