Sankalp se Siddhi Tak: Yeh India Ka Time Hai
Maitreyi College of the University of Delhi is one of the 75 educational institutions chosen by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development organise an event – Sankalp se Siddhi Tak: Yeh India ka Time Hai to commemorate 75 years of Quit India Movement and 70 years of Independence.
The event which is scheduled to be held on Friday, the 22nd of September 2017 comprises Pathan on the theme “India without Fear”. The event entails a dramatic reading of well-known verses of famous poets like Ram Prasad Bismil, Adam Gondvi, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Pash and Rabindra Nath Tagore by the students of the departments of History, Political Science and Sociology. This will be accompanied by a photo and poster exhibition and graffiti writing on the same theme. Pathan – Dramatised reading will be followed by Manthan – a panel discussion of the students on the theme “New India by 2022: Challenges and Future Prospects”. Through Manthan, the students will reflect on the past, contemplate the present and share with us, their vision of the New India.
The event which will begin at 10:30 a.m. will end with a performance by the Sufi Rock Band – Nasya.
