Hack in the North, a student-held hackathon in India will host its third edition from 16th – 18th March, 2018. We have invited a legion of over 500 hackers over the past two years to collaborate, create and bring to life an idea, in 36 hours. The regions we come from are known for their diversity, scenic beauty, and some of the best colleges in India but sadly, not for hackathons.
That’s where we come in. We aim to inculcate innovative development and provide a medium through which bright minds from everywhere can channel out their true potential. You don’t necessarily have to be a developer to attend – if you possess skills which help solve the world’s problems and demonstrate your solutions, you’re in.
Hack in the North started out as a hostel room idea back in 2016 by a few unorthodox, yet driven students of IIIT Allahabad who wanted to move away from the realm of the normal academic routine and organise a hackathon to help expand the thinking of students and show that you don’t always need a lifetime to make something extraordinary. Sometimes, you can do it in 36 hours too. These 36 hours will involve lots of food, lots of code, lots of fun and lots of learning too: courtesy of the talks we’re hosting. The best of tech industry will come together to make sure you go back home much more enlightened about the world of technology.
Our focus is on letting your imagination flow free and enable you to push the boundaries of what can be done. Age is an issue of mind over matter. We don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter. Hence, we’re open for all! 14, 40, or somewhere in between? If you have vision and drive, you’re most welcome.
Beating its own stats with every passing year, Hack in the North has grown exponentially over time. Being one of the oldest and the fastest growing hackathons in India, you can easily spot developer conference attendees wearing Hack in the North tees (which are free). We take care of everything; be it food, accommodation, or a fun experience. The only requirement from our side is that you build crazy stuff, as crazy as can be – we’ll take care of the rest. Attendance is free, and every participant walks home with goodies like bags, sippers, multiple T-shirts and, of course, developer swags – the signature of any hackathon. In addition to all this, we’re providing travel compensation as well!
We welcome hardware hacks with arms wide open! Arduino, NodeMCU, RaspberryPi – whichever platform suits you the best. What’s more, we have prizes worth over Rs. 20 lakhs – Diversity Prizes, prizes for using special APIs and frameworks, and of course, the best hacks.
Excited? Pumped at the chance of building something amazing and solving the world’s biggest challenges?
