The air of anticipation and hype lingering in the capital city is going to implode as the much awaited Mood Indigo 2018 hits the stage at Zakir Husain College of Delhi on 6th & 7th of this October. This signature festival of IIT Bombay has powered through to its 48th edition this year developing into a melting pot of Indian and global culture, a launchpad for upcoming artists and a social platform. Started in 1971 by a group of enthusiastic IITians, Mood Indigo continues to host an ever increasing number of young guns to break new ground on the cultural scene and will be conducted from 27th – 30th December this year.
Not surprisingly, celebrities are no strangers to this fest with stalwarts like Asha Bhosle & R D Burman, Jagjit Singh, Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Amit Trivedi and many more having graced the occasion. From critically acclaimed prog acts like Porcupine Tree and Haken, to chartbusters like Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Amit Trivedi, to musical maestros like Zakir Hussain and Karsh Kale. Mood Indigo has caught the attention of national as well as international artists including Simple Plan, Haken and Bassjackers
Mood Indigo is known for the platform it provides to people from different colleges to compete against each other. Every year, Mood Indigo plans to go on a nationwide tour to ensure every individual in the country is given an opportunity to showcase his talent at a significant level to nurture his potential and give him a boost to pursue his passion through Multicity eliminations in various cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bangalore, Chandigarh and many more.
Instigated as the Delhi-Mumbai rivalry, Delhi is all set to showcase its finesse from 6th-7th October at Zakir Husain College, Delhi. “Multicity” is an elimination round, the winners of which might get a direct entry for higher rounds of the competitions at Mood Indigo where they’ll be mentored and judged by pioneers of art who are delighted to aid these students.

Aagaaz, a street play competition where artists convey strong messages through their captivating performances. A few selected ones might then get to perform in the final competition at Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay.
Indigo Saga, the group contemporary dance competition is set to bring out the inner creativity in the budding stars with some brilliant themes just waiting to be portrayed.
Building upon one of the most popular dance forms, ‘Beat the Street’ is a group Hip-Hop Dance competition will set the rhythm for the day.
Mood Indigo also brings an English Solo Singing Competition, ‘Singing the Indigos’, that will leave the audience swayed after listening to the intense and enchanting voices of future singers.
Humour Us, a Stand-Up Comedy Competition, will witness the presence of city’s hidden comedians that are sure to make the day of audience with their rib-tickling humour.
The crème de la crème of these competitions might go to the city of dreams this december in Mood Indigo 2018. With such mind-boggling line-up of events, it seems certain that Mood Indigo is determined to continue its legacy of fulfilling the ‘Montage of Dreams’ of young India.
