Come this Diwali, and your heart will be filled with kindness. At least, that is what more than a thousand dancers and volunteers would try and do. Dancing at a flash mob, the dancers would kick-start the Kindness Week, as a part of a global initiative by Life Vest Inside on Sunday, 8th November.
Every year Life Vest Inside organizes “Dance for Kindness,” a WorldWide FreezeMob/FlashMob event during which groups from all across the globe unite under the banner of kindness and join together to perform to the same song, same dance, all happening on the same day. Dance for Kindness serves as Life Vest Inside’s Annual Fundraiser as well as a means of building awareness of World Kindness Day.
This year marks LVI’s 4th Annual WorldWide Dance for Kindness 2015, with participation from over 100 cities spanning across 40 countries. In New Delhi, the Flash-Freeze mob would take place in Connaught Place on Raahgiri day, 8th November. “The purpose of Dance for Kindness is to look beyond ourselves – beyond the boundaries of our country, beyond our culture, our race, our religion and realize that we are citizens of the world and that kindness is the common thread that unites us all”, says Abhishek, Group Leader for Dance for Kindness and the co-founder of Those In Need (TIN). TIN is an organisation connecting NGOs, societies and volunteers. TIN is celebrating its first anniversary and on this occasion Abhishek is heading a vertical of international event, a big leap from the local events he started with a year ago.
Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world, indeed, it is the only thing that ever has, said Margaret Mead. Life Vest Inside and Abhishek Saini are taking her words to the next level reminding people that a small group of committed DANCERS can change the world as well! On 8th November, Dancers from New Delhi will join with thousands around the globe on the same day, dancing under the banner of kindness!
