A talk by Preeti Shenoy hosted by Dyal Singh College

October 16, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Preeti Shenoy

We all must have seen her books at WH Smith stores at every Metro station or under the ‘bestselling’ tab on popular online shopping sites. And oh yes, they sell like hotcakes! Preeti Shenoy, a renowned Indian writer, has written many books like ‘Life is what you make it’, ‘Tea for two and a piece of cake’, ‘The one you cannot have’ and more, which have enjoyed top places in the best-selling Indian fiction charts.

Besides being the author of five best-selling books, she dons many hats – as a poet, blogger, artist, yoga-buff, ex-basketball player and a Ted X speaker. With interests as varied as these, Preeti Shenoy could sure be called a versatile and an immensely creative person. Not only her books, but her works of art, which include portraits, mixed media and quilling, speak for her creativity too. She even has an internationally recognized qualification from UK in portraiture.

It’s not surprising that she was listed among the Forbes List of the 100 most influential celebrities of India in the 2013 edition and was also marked unique by India Today for being the only woman in the best-selling league. She has written for illustrious publications like Times of India, Reader’s Digest and many more.

She exudes positivity towards everything in her life and her works reflect the same. She took up writing as her career only after her blog, which she started in 2006, became a huge success and her readers suggested her to publish her writings. A lot of college goers nowadays are avid bloggers and aspiring writers and could use her guidance to light their path. In her words, “Stay positive and stay happy. Life is too beautiful and short to hold negativity inside you. Let go!”The Economics Department of Dyal Singh College would be honoured by her presence at the college on this 16th of October and we look forward to drawing inspiration from her words of wisdom.
