Hans Raj is perhaps amongst those colleges of the University of Delhi that have risen from average to outstanding in the recent past. The 2007 India Today survey that listed its name in the top ten institutions of the country bears testimony to this. Here’s an overview of the colorful weaves of an institution as diverse yet together as Hans Raj.

Location

Hans Raj College is located right next to the most bustling hang-out of North Campus- Kamla Nagar. But despite that, it is a little cut-off from the rest of the university for it is the most distant college.

How to Get There

Popular Courses

Hans Raj offers a wide variety of courses in the arts, sciences and commerce. Although it has the maximum number of seats for commerce, that is also the most sought after course offered here with its cut-offs touching ninety five. Economics too is another such paper, for admission into it requires very high marks. However, the standards of academia are commendable across the board.

Admission Procedure

General Category

Admission into Hans Raj College through the general category is based purely on the common form issued by the University, although to be on the safer side the college form may also be filled.

ECA/ Sports category

For admission through ECA and Sports in Hansraj, there is a separate form which needs to be filled up and submitted alongside all relevant certificates. Following this there are trials. After this a list of students selected for ECA/Sports are announced.

Infrastructure

Hans Raj is perhaps the only college in the university with an electronic shooting range. Apart from that, the infrastructural facilities here are nothing spectacular. The library is well-stocked, the classrooms are about average and the auditorium is in dire need of repair.

Add-on Courses

Much like many other colleges of the University of Delhi, Hans Raj too offers several add-on language courses.
