Department of Chemistry of Zakir Husain Delhi College Organised the Chemistry Career Symposium-Mosaic’18!

MOSAIC: Making Overall Sense of Avenues in Chemistry, The Chemistry Career Symposium organized By Department of Chemistry; Zakir Husain Delhi College in collaboration with Royal Society of Chemistry came to an end on Wednesday Evening. With more than 250 participants from all over DU, the event was indeed a crowd puller.
Prof. R.K. Sharma, Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Dr. Syed Masood Husain, Prof. Manjeet Aggarwal, Prof. Javed Iqbal & Ms. Archana Pandey were the invited guests of the event. All these prominent speakers came to enlighten the students with their words of wisdom. The event started with welcome address by Dr. Sulekh Chandra, Principal, Zakir Husain Delhi College which was followed by the keynote address of Prof. R.K. Sharma. Prof. R.K. Sharma deliberated on Green Chemistry: Designing Chemistry for Human Health and Environment.
Dr. Sangeeta Pandita gave the Convener’s Lecture and guided the participants into a thoughtful introspection about designing the right fit for our career.
Prof. Javed Iqbal, Founder and Chairmen of Cosmic Discoveries Inc., Hyderabad & Toronto, spoke on the emerging science of regenerative medicine using stem cells.
Each Invited lecture was followed by an interactive session where the students interacted with the speakers and quenched their thirst of knowledge.
At the end Ms. Archana Pandey from La Scenteur Fragrance Technologies gave the students a practical exposure to the secret world of scents extracted from natural products.
It was for the first time that so many speakers from various fields in Chemistry came together under one platform to discuss, deliberate & celebrate their success stories.
It was only because of the sincere dedication and hard work of all the MOSAIC Volunteers that “MOSAIC” shined so brightly and passed so smoothly. Not all superheroes wear capes, some wear volunteer badges too!
