Senior member of the Admission Committee of the University of Delhi, Dr GS Tuteja who is also serving as the Deputy Dean Students’ Welfare for the last six years is being slammed for allegedly partnering with a private centre named Jitin Chawla’s Centre for Career Development for guiding students about the DU admissions in an upcoming event.
With the next round of admissions to the University of Delhi (DU) commencing soon, Deputy Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr GS Tuteja is being allegedly blamed for having ties with a private counselling centre named Jitin Chawla’s Centre for Career Development for guiding students. The private centre in its recent advertisement has also claimed to guide students on how to get admission in DU even at 60 percent. The DU administration and teachers have raised a lot of eyebrows due to this matter and many are concerned about such instances marring the reputation of the varsity.
The matter was revealed when the advertisement of the aforementioned private centre floated with the image and designation of Dr Tuteja where the centre is organising a “mega career workshop” for Class XII students on 29 March 2018 in the NCUI Auditorium for guiding the DU aspirants. The latest message from the centre on 27 March also claimed that DU Deputy Dean would be attending the event for sure with “100 percent guarantee”.
The agreement of the service of teachers of DU clearly mentions,” A teacher shall devote his/her whole time to the service of the university and shall not without permission of the university, engage, directly or indirectly, in any trade or business whatsoever, or in any private tuition or other work to which any emolument or honorarium is attached”. Many officials in the varsity have said that if the centre is dragging Dr Tuteja’s name without his consent, then he should immediately sue them and serve a notice along with issuing a statement which denies his involvement at any stage.
