The third edition of Appulse, the annual commerce fest organised by the Department of Commerce, Kirori Mal College is a great platform for testing knowledge, skills and capabilities needed for the challenging business environment of today. The three day event, begins this Tuesday, 21st February and with sponsors like NTPC, SmartPrep, Arena Animation, Gyan Gurucull, State Bank of India amongst several others already looks very promising.

The main events slated for Day 1 are Clash of the Titans(Debate), The Biz Quiz and Genesis- A Product Beyond Your Imagination. The most interesting part of the fest is the fact that it’s centered around the theme- the life of the great businessman-industrialist, Dirubhai Ambani. Says Surbhi Verma, Creative Head of the Commerce Society, KMC, “Through our fest, we attempt to pay a tribute to the great Dirubhai Ambani. For this we’re also organising an exhibition in the college corridor giving an insight into his life and how he started his career. The creative team has put into a lot of effort for the same.”
Day 2 will then see events like Ran-neeti(B-Plan), Impressario and City Ville- a unique event inspired from the popular Facebook game by the same name. Here, the participants will have to construct a city from the raw materials provided for Level 1, followed by constructing a guest house for Level 2.
Ask Surbhi what makes the fest different from any other, she responds, “This year for Ran-neeti we have added a kind of twist. Apart from the profit aspect, we also welcome a master business idea which serves a social cause, thus fulfilling an important aspect of business, corporate social responsibility.” Apart from these very commerce-centric events, the fest also has a lot of side events in store, such as The Ladder of Luck, Corporate Housie, Pictionary, Spin the Wheel to name a few.
From the perspective of the host society, Surbhi says, ”We’ve put in lot of hard work for the fest for over a month now. We can already see a lot of hype and excitement around it. Every year we keep adding new things to make it all the more interesting. In a way, it’s become more of a passion for us now.”
