The first cut off for securing admission to Bcom Hons in SRCC this year requires a percentage of 95.25-98.75. Also, there is no provision that allows a student to shift from a regular to a correspondence course in their final year.

Hi, I passed 12th grade in 2009. I would have applied to DU this year, but I was misled regarding the scope and future prospects. I feel that I have missed out on something very valuable. My twelfth grade percentage is 96.2 % (overall) with 96.5 %(as my best four subjects), and 96.33 % (in PCM). I passed from CBSE Board. I have also acquired seats in BITS Pilani – Goa Campus, NIT – Rourkela and I might just scrape a seat in DCE/DTU. However, I am gradually being disinterested in engineering and want to study pure science or economics in St. Stephens, Hindu or SRCC. As the admission dates are over for this year, is it possible for me to apply next year? If yes, then what do I need to do? How should I spend this year? Thanks in advance
DU Beat says:
Aug 18, 2009
@ Ananya – Hi, yes it is possible for you to apply next year. All you have to do is wait for the forms to come out. Once that happens, you just have to fill them out and then wait for the cut off lists.
This might actually be a good thing – Your percentage is high enough to get you into most colleges. You can spend this year really figuring out which course you want to do and what college would be best for it.
Best of luck :)

Hey, I’m a student of class XI and my subjects are Pol.sci.,Psychology,Maths,Eng.elective and Economics. I want to pursue Eco.Hons From DU.(preferably LSR/St.Stephens) Im thinking of taking maths as my 6th subject and taking P.E. in its place(as one of the 5 subjects). However,I have checked on the LSR website and it says that there is 4% negative weightage for students who have P.E. I really want to keep maths but cannot attend my classes regularly and so would prefer it if i could study on my own as well as by taking maths tuitions. Please Let me know If taking P.E. would be beneficial Or not. Also please explain me the ‘best four’ criteria. Thank you

if the website says so then abide by it. don’t take P.E. Take a subject that will help you score better as the cut-offs for these colleges are pretty high. also, in the first year there is a subject called MME- which is mathematics applied in economics. in this subject, you require class 11th level calculus and not studying it in school can make this subject a problem for you later.
